1. What we deliver
Every service is defined by a fixed list of deliverables — the files and documents you receive. Our commitment is to deliver that list, done to professional standard. We sell engineering judgment and analysis, not a guaranteed production outcome.
Mold Design
- 3D mold assembly (STEP)
- Detailed 2D machining drawings of core, cavity and key components are included when MoldShifu also builds the mold; they are not an unconditional design-only deliverable.
- Bill of materials (BOM)
- Mechanism, cooling, and gating design notes
Existing-mold / transfer review (where quoted)
Transfer documentation review is scoped within DFM & Mold Audit or a separate agreed project; it is not a standalone fixed-price service on the current menu. The written quote identifies which of the following items are included.
- Full English technical dossier of your existing mold
- Steel and cooling interpretation; process-window recommendation (Moldflow-based)
- Missing-document checklist
- Risk assessment, graded by confidence level
Production Rescue
- Root-cause diagnosis of the reported defect
- A written, step-by-step corrective plan, ranked by likelihood
- Moldflow verification where applicable
DFM & Mold Audit
- PDF report: wall thickness, draft, undercut, gate and cooling advice, warpage and weld-line risk
- A clear, ranked list of manufacturability issues and fixes
2. Timelines
Delivery dates are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. We'll give you a target date when we accept the job and keep you updated.
3. What each report covers — and how we mark it
Our reports combine automated analysis with 40 years of hands-on judgment. So you always know how sure we are, every finding is tagged:
- [Measured] — dimensions, deep holes, geometry facts. Directly verifiable.
- [Simulated] — Moldflow results (fill, warpage, gate, clamp force).
- [AI first-pass, engineer to confirm] — draft, cavity-count and similar first reads.
- [Engineer review] — undercuts, mechanism decisions, steel and cooling interpretation. Decided by the Shifu, not by software.
4. After-care & re-diagnosis
We stand behind our work, within clear boundaries:
- Two free re-diagnosis rounds within 30 days of delivery, for questions within the scope of what we delivered.
- Our error, our fix. If a mistake on our side — a miscalculation, a missed feature, a drawing error — is found within 30 days, we correct it at no charge.
- From the third round, or for new issues outside the original scope, a follow-up fee of 30% of the order price applies.
What "re-diagnosis" means
Re-diagnosis covers questions about the report we already delivered. It does not cover new defects, new parts, or changes you make to the product after delivery — those are a new order. A changed product design is always a new order.
"Plan didn't work" — defined
If you followed our written plan and can show the execution record (parameter screenshots, photos) and the problem still isn't solved, that triggers a free re-diagnosis. "It didn't work" without having actually run the plan does not.
5. What we don't do
- Physical mold manufacture is outside these remote engineering services. An optional mold build needs its own agreed scope and quote.
- We don't come on-site. Diagnosis is remote; local execution is yours.
- Findings about your existing mold (steel grade, hidden shortcuts) are informed opinions and flags for you to verify — e.g. "hardness looks off, recommend re-testing on arrival" — not a certified metallurgical verdict.
6. No guarantee of outcome
Injection molding and tooling involve many variables beyond any single report's control — your press, your resin lot, your operators, your maintenance. Like any professional engineering firm, we use our best skill and judgment, but we cannot and do not guarantee a specific result: not a first-shot success, not a defect-free part, not a production yield, not a cost saving. Past work shown on this site does not guarantee future results.
7. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete inputs (files, material grades, parameters). We analyze based on what you give us; if the inputs are wrong, our analysis reflects that.
- The final decision to cut steel, run production, or ship parts — and responsibility for those outcomes — rests with you.
- You confirm you have the rights to any drawings or models you send us.
8. Payment
- Analysis and design services are paid up front, or per an agreed milestone schedule stated in your quote.
- Free DFM Mini checks are free, with no obligation.
- The written quote and invoice state the agreed payment method, currency and milestones.
9. Confidentiality
Files and data are used only for the agreed service. Access is limited to people who need them for that work, under the applicable confidentiality agreement. Supplier, subcontractor or logistics access, approved file versions and permitted uses must be agreed before any necessary handoff. Do not send recipient address lists in a first project brief. Public case materials require permission and must exclude confidential project data.
10. Intellectual property
On full payment, the deliverables we create specifically for your project are yours to use for that project. Our internal methods, knowledge base, templates, and know-how remain ours.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including lost production, lost profit, or tooling rework costs — even if advised of the possibility. All implied warranties are excluded.
12. Scope & changes
Each order covers the scope agreed in your quote. Changes to scope — added parts, new requirements, redesigns after delivery — are handled as a new quote. This page is a plain-English summary of our standard terms; a specific order may be governed by a separate written agreement, which prevails if there's any conflict.
Last updated: 2026. MoldShifu reserves the right to update these terms; the version in effect at the time of your order applies.
